How big is a cornhole board, really? And how far apart should the boards be? Here you will find the official dimensions at a glance, and the dimensions of our own boards.
Official dimensions of a cornhole board
- Playing surface: about 61 x 122 cm (in the US 2 by 4 feet)
- Hole: about 15 cm in diameter
- Position of the hole: in the middle, with the centre about 23 cm below the top edge
- Height at the back: about 30 cm
- Height at the front: about 6 to 10 cm
Distance between the boards
In competitions the fronts of the boards stand about 8.2 metres apart. For children, beginners or a small garden, 5 to 6 metres is fine.
Cornhole bags
An official bag is about 15 x 15 cm and weighs around 450 grams. Traditionally they are filled with corn; competition bags are often filled with plastic pellets and have a fast and a slow side.
Our boards
Our cornhole boards have a frame of 60 x 120 cm with a 15 cm hole, a playing surface of 12 mm sanded plywood and folding legs. They are made for recreational play: in the garden, in the park, at parties and company events. They are light enough to take along and sturdy enough for plenty of use.
How much space do you need?
For a full set-up, count on about 11 metres in length and 3 metres in width, so that players can stand beside the boards. If you have less space, place the boards closer together.
